In Yoga, six branches represent a set of characteristics and focus. They are as follows:
- Hatha yoga : This branch of yoga aims to prime the mind and body
- Raja yoga : This branch involves meditation & strict adherence to a series of disciplinary steps known as the eight limbs of yoga.
- Karma yoga : This path of service aims to create a future free from negativity & selfishness.
- Bhakti yoga : This aims to establish the path of a positive way to channel emotions and devotion, and cultivate acceptance & tolerance.
- Jnana yoga : This is about the path of the scholar, wisdom, and developing the intellect through study.
- Tantra yoga : This branch is the pathway of ritual, ceremony, or consummation of a relationship.
In Yoga, it maintains the chakras which are the center points of the physical body, thoughts, and energy. Through these chakras, people experience reality via desires, emotional reactions, level of confidence, and physical symptoms.

Modern Yoga involves the practice of a series of postures and asanas. For example, lower back pain can be cured with the help of specific postures and yoga positions which will strengthen and support the back and soothes symptoms of a herniated disc.
Practicing asana helps in building up stamina and strength, and improves flexibility, balance and relaxation of the body, and coordination.
There are several other benefits of Yoga, like it improves blood circulation and supplies nutrition to the body which helps in relieving toxins, improves bowel movement, etc. It can be practiced anywhere like home, parks, grounds, yoga classes, etc.
