Veterinary Medicine Books: Many animals are domesticated for various purposes, whether for dairy farming, keeping them as pets at home, etc. Keeping animals bring the responsibility of keeping them with care, and love, feeding them good food, and taking them for regular checkup or doctor visit when they get any disease. Like when humans get diseased they visit a doctor and tell them about their problem. But animals are not able to tell us whether they are in any pain or suffering.
It is we who are domesticating them who need to do their regular check-up and see to them whether they are fit or not. The field that takes care of animal cures and maintenance of their health is known as veterinary medicine.
Veterinary medicine not only deals with animal treatments and diseases but also prevents the transmission of diseases from animals to people and gives owners advice on how to take proper care of animals.
They also take care to ensure a safe food supply while maintaining the health of the agricultural animals and inspect food processing industries too.
In earlier times, veterinary practice came in the Middle East in 9000 BC. The sheep herders uses their rudimentary skills to treat animals that also included the dogs who looked after the sheep herds. Later in Egypt, between 4000-3000 BC, treatment for animals became more common but still was not done in large areas.
Later when people started domesticating animals like dogs, cats, etc. started to treat them as their family members the way we do now, this veterinary medicine also started to develop.

Still in early times veterinary treatment was not done is large scale until early 1900s when caring for pets and other animals become more common. Today, veterinarians service is available worldwide in military services, private and corporate clinical practice, academic programs and government service.

The advancement in the technology helps in detecting diseases early. This helps the pet owners to give their pets a better and healthy life.
The veterinarians use tools like digital radiology, surgical equipment, and pharmaceuticals, and advanced diagnostic to keep the animals have a successful treatment and can live longer.
Now other treatments like dental cleanings, grooming and treatments like acupuncture and massages are also available for the animals. As the veterinarians study more about the animals and have a better understanding of their pain, are now able to manage their diseases with new medical treatments.
