Calligraphy Books: The world is surrounded by so many technologies from electronic devices like cell phones, computers, the internet, and the list goes on and on. Through this technology one can communicate with the world in so many ways like the internet. But in earlier times when there were no electronic devices, people used to convey messages, and their teaching through paper. Writing on paper has been a source of communication for many thousands of years and now it is still used.
It is believed that humans are more creative when they write with their hands. As when they are using an electronic device their body is still, but when they use their hands for writing on a paper, which allows their hands to move, this unleashes their creativity.
Well, writing is not just ordinary writing on paper, it includes many writing art forms like Calligraphy. In this section, we present you with an amazing collection of calligraphy books. These books will help you get new skills and gain detailed knowledge about calligraphy.
Calligraphy writing is an artistic process of forming beautiful words and symbols by hand and then arranging these words that possess integrity, rhythm, and some sort of ancestry. Integrity refers to the admiration of proportions and the designing of letters and symbols in images.
Harmony is a pleasing relationship between the characters, words, and single-letter elements. Ancestry is the preservation of letters and shapes. Rhythm is the repetition of writings that creates patterns and emphasis with the viewer’s eyes.
The word calligraphy is obtained from the Greek Word kallos meaning beauty and graphein meaning to write. In East Asia and the Middle East, calligraphy is considered a major art that is equal to paintings and sculptures.
Many people get confused between calligraphy and cursive handwriting. But calligraphy is much more than just lettering. The pages which have calligraphy writing are much more dressed up and decorated.
The pages include colors like gold, pictures, ornate pattern, and historic flourishes. It is all about lettering beautifully on paper with additional decorations and then conveying meaning to the reader.
Calligraphy is mostly done with special tools designed for it like pens with flat, pointed, or round pins and calligraphy brushes or softer brushes depending on the style of work of the calligraphist.
Although, it still can be done with a simple felt-tip or ballpoint pen, which just depends on the style of the calligraphy one is practicing.
The tools which are usually used by a calligraphist are: Qalam, chiseled marker, ink brush, quill, dip pen, and fountain pen. Calligraphy was not only practiced in Greece but its history dates back to China, where the oldest Chinese character was carved on the body parts of tortoise and ox.
Qin Shi Huang, was the emperor who conquered the whole Chinese basin. After he announced a major change in the writing system, Chinese history also saw its particular styles and alphabets of calligraphy.
In the present times, calligraphy is great for art and crafts classrooms. People love to get calligraphy writings on their wedding/invitation cards, graphic cards, logos, art, and much more.
